CANDIDATE PROFILE

We are seeking an experienced candidate with a passion for engineering and maintenance. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of managing engineering operations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A High school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in engineering and maintenance, or related field, are required. Technical training in HVAC-R, electrical, and plumbing is also necessary.

OR

A 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or a related field, and 1 year of experience in engineering and maintenance, or related field, are also acceptable.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Managing Engineering Operations and Budgets

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the physical plant, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical systems.

They will ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards, manage and control heat, light, and power, and recommend current best methods for energy conservation and economical facility operations.

In addition, they will develop specifications and requirements for service contracts and administer such contracts to support building needs.

Distributing preventive maintenance and repair work orders, and monitoring timeliness and quality of completion, are also key responsibilities.

The candidate will oversee and direct the maintenance of grounds, guestrooms, public space, restaurants, property vehicles, and recreational facilities.

Developing a long-term plan for preventative maintenance and asset protection, and overseeing execution of that plan, are critical components of this role.

The successful candidate will also develop project plans in accordance with renovation or new construction needs, contact contractors for bids, and supervise construction to ensure timely completion of projects within budgetary guidelines.

Building positive relationships with external customers, such as city building/zoning department, fire prevention bureau, and vendors, is essential.

Ensuring fire crew has complete understanding of all procedures, equipment, and alarms, performing monthly property inspections to ensure buildings and grounds are maintained in excellent condition, and conducting guest room and common area inspections to ensure guest satisfaction are also important duties.

The candidate will inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine the type of work required and recommend or arrange for additional services, such as painting, repair work, renovations, and replacement of furnishings and equipment.

Selecting and ordering new equipment, supplies, and furnishings, managing parts and equipment inventory, ensuring building and equipment licenses and certifications are current, maintaining property life safety systems, and displaying leadership in guest hospitality and creating a positive atmosphere for guest relations are other key responsibilities.

This role requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
