Development Role Overview

DSFM seeks a motivated and skilled development professional to build our development engine. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching new prospects, drafting proposals and reports, and maintaining accurate donor databases.

This role is ideal for someone with 3–5 years' experience in fundraising who wishes to consolidate their skills and grow into a frontline development professional.

Key ResponsibilitiesDonor Intelligence & Prospecting
  • Database Management: Maintain an up-to-date database of high net worth individuals, corporate social responsibility donors, and institutional donors.
  • Prospect Research: Identify new donor prospects through research and mapping.
  • Donor Briefs: Prepare concise briefs on donors and prospects for leadership and Development Board meetings.
Proposal Writing & Communications
  • Document Creation: Draft proposals, reports, and presentations aligned with DSFM initiatives.
  • Template Maintenance: Ensure that proposal/report templates are current and standardized across initiatives.
  • Donor Engagement: Contribute to the creation of engaging newsletters, mailers, and impact communications.
Systems & Stewardship Support
  • Grant Calendar Management: Maintain accurate grant calendars and submission trackers.
  • Donor Interaction: Ensure that all interactions with donors and boards are logged in the CRM system within 48 hours.
  • Event Planning: Coordinate and deliver donor salons and stewardship events.
  • Reporting: Prepare dashboards and internal reports on fundraising activity.
