Human Resources Generalist

About the Role:

The Human Resources Generalist is a critical member of our HR team responsible for providing guidance and support on employee relations, policies, and procedures. This role requires a high level of discretion, empathy, and analytical skills to handle complex and sensitive matters.

This position involves serving as the first point of contact for employee relations issues, investigating complaints of misconduct, discrimination, harassment, or policy violations, and partnering with management and HR colleagues to provide coaching, counseling, and guidance on employee-related issues.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in human resources and 5-8+ years of experience in employee relations or generalist HR roles. They should possess knowledge of labour laws, employment legislation, and best practices, as well as exceptional emotional intelligence and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations issues and concerns.
  • Investigate complaints of misconduct, discrimination, harassment, or policy violations in a fair and thorough manner.
  • Partner with management and HR colleagues to provide coaching, counselling, and guidance on employee-related issues.
  • Interpret and apply HR policies, procedures, and employment laws to ensure consistent and compliant decisions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and case management records in a confidential and timely manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in human resources.
  • 5-8+ years of experience in employee relations or generalist HR roles.
  • Knowledge of labour laws, employment legislation, and best practices.
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence and analytical skills.
