As a subject matter expert, you play a pivotal role in shaping the student experience by guiding learners through their academic journey. Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to all student inquiries via the learning management system and learner support software, exercising empathy and understanding for each student's unique learning needs
  • Utilize your industry expertise to effectively guide students through complex assignments and questions, providing clear and concise guidance
  • Deliver prompt feedback that includes pointed questions to help students build problem-solving skills and achieve correct answers
  • Cultivate strong relationships with students at various stages of their careers, from beginners to seasoned professionals
  • Contribute to course improvement initiatives by suggesting enhancements to assigned Program Delivery Manager (PDM) and Designer to ensure content is communicated clearly, accurately, and effectively
  • Collaborate with the Emeritus team on a regular basis to enhance course delivery and resolve unexpected course challenges

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of extensive work experience in the field of data engineering, data science, or data analytics
  • Professional and/or academic experience in machine learning and artificial intelligence
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, and the use of GitHub
  • Experience using data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau)
  • Experience using Microsoft Azure
  • Advanced academic background in mathematics, particularly statistics, calculus, and linear algebra
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen effectively, respond appropriately, and maintain a mutual comfort level while working with a diverse student population
  • Experience using Canvas or other related learning management systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Slack and Teams as communication tools
  • Experience working with support/service software or ticketing systems
  • Experience with using bug tracking and feedback tools
