The position of Executive Sports Manager is a key leadership role within the institution, responsible for driving the development and implementation of sports programs, physical education, and wellness initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the overall vision, strategy, and policies for the sports department to ensure alignment with institutional goals and objectives.
- Oversee the planning and execution of sports programs, inter-collegiate tournaments, training camps, and physical education curriculum to promote student engagement and academic achievement.
- Manage and maintain sports facilities, gymnasiums, and grounds, ensuring proper maintenance and utilization to support high-quality programming.
- Identify, recruit, and mentor talented athletes to represent the institution at various levels through strategic partnerships and outreach efforts.
- Cultivate a culture of fitness and sportsmanship through collaboration with coaches, trainers, and faculty members to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns on health, fitness, and sports to promote healthy lifestyles and well-being among students.
- Evaluate the performance of sports coaches and staff, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and ethical sports practices to protect student-athlete welfare.
- Formulate and implement sports and physical education policies as per UGC/AIU norms to ensure regulatory compliance and excellence in programming.
- Identify and groom talented sportspersons to represent the institution at zonal, national, and international levels through targeted recruitment and development initiatives.
- Liaise with sports councils, federations, and UGC-recognized bodies for collaboration and participation in regional, national, and international competitions.
- Manage resources effectively to support sports activities, optimizing budget allocation and resource utilization to maximize program impact.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Ph.D. in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field with expertise in sports administration, coaching, or sports management.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in leading sports departments, managing large-scale sports events, and developing high-performance teams.
- Proven track record of building strong relationships with stakeholders, fostering collaborative environments, and promoting organizational growth and development.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve exceptional results.
- Knowledge of modern training methods, sports technology, and performance analytics to drive data-informed decision-making and program evaluation.
- A strong background in representing institutions at inter-university/inter-collegiate competitions or state and/or national championships, with demonstrated success in securing awards and recognition.
- Knowledge of UGC, AIU, and national sports policies to ensure compliance and excellence in programming.
