Key Position Overview:

The candidate will be responsible for evaluating and guiding technology adoption across broadband, telecom, media, and internet domains. The position involves developing strategic models in alignment with evolving telecom policies, and driving macro-level project planning for nationwide broadband infrastructure deployment.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze existing and emerging technologies in broadband, telecom, telecom media, and internet sectors.
  • Develop new schemes and implementation models aligned with current and revised national telecom policies.
  • Prepare and manage macro-level project plans for tracking the installation and deployment of broadband infrastructure nationwide.
  • Coordinate and liaise with:
  • Telecom service providers, OEMs, and IT solution vendors
  • Central & State Government departments, Municipal bodies, and Gram Panchayats
  • Support execution of projects involving fiber laying, tower connectivity, and last-mile delivery.
  • Propose and implement conflict resolution strategies to address execution-related issues with municipalities and state authorities.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the NBM or PMU Head, in alignment with project goals.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:Educational Background:
  • B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication (ECE) or equivalent
Professional Experience:
  • 15+ years of experience in the Telecom industry
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in:
  • Telecom planning, operations, or deployment of new technologies
  • Government telecom/e-governance projects
Desirable Attributes and Competencies:
  • In-depth understanding of broadband and telecom infrastructure, networking, and media technologies.
  • Proven experience in:
  • Working with Telecom OEMs, infrastructure providers, and IT solution vendors
  • Engaging with central and state-level government authorities
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills
  • Strong data analysis skills using IT tools (Excel, Power BI, MS Project, etc.) for reporting and dashboards.
  • Familiarity with government procedures and public-private partnership models in telecom.
  • Ability to handle multi-stakeholder project coordination and complex operational challenges.
Prioritised Preferences:
  • Prior experience in National Broadband Mission (NBM) or similar government initiatives
  • Understanding of rural and urban telecom rollout challenges
  • Experience with policy formulation support or infrastructure policy compliance
