About the Role

The Fashion Merchandiser is responsible for leading the merchandising team to optimize the buying cycle and ensure timely production planning and capacity management.

This role requires a strong understanding of garment manufacturing operations and processes, as well as technical knowledge of pattern and fit development, preferably with AUTO CAD skills.

As a key member of the team, the Fashion Merchandiser will work closely with operations managers, suppliers, and vendors to ensure on-time fulfillment and inspect products thoroughly.

  • Past experience in managing production or sourcing (ideally 2+ years).
  • Bachelor's Diploma/Degree in Fashion Technology or Engineering in Textile Technology.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the merchandising team to optimize the buying cycle and ensure timely production planning and capacity management.
  • Develop and implement new processes or enhance existing ones to improve procurement strategies and reduce production cycles.
  • Collaborate closely with operations managers, suppliers, and vendors to ensure on-time fulfillment and inspect products thoroughly.
  • Work with vendors to develop sampling and initial costs, conduct supplier audits, and address any issues or non-compliance.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and sourcing metrics, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Train and mentor team members, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high performance.
  • Conduct vendor quality training and development initiatives to optimize time and quality.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fashion technology or engineering, with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

A highly motivated and experienced fashion merchandiser with technical expertise in garment construction, pattern making, and manufacturing processes is required.

Digital savvy and able to implement new technologies and tools, the perfect candidate will be a collaborative team player who can drive process improvements.
