About the role

This is a key position in our Public Policy team, responsible for navigating India's policy framework and ensuring alignment with our business goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing policy strategies that align with our business objectives.
  • Representing our interests with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other stakeholders at local, state, and national levels.
  • Monitoring and analysing legislative and regulatory developments to identify emerging opportunities and challenges that may impact the business.
  • Providing strategic, data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership on key policy matters, ensuring proactive decision-making.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to address critical legislative, regulatory and public policy proposals.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert in policy-related matters, offering both tactical and strategic advice to senior leadership.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across regulatory, industry, and business networks.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in public policy and regulatory affairs, with a strong focus on the Indian market.
  • A strong network of stakeholders, including at senior levels, with a demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at the highest levels.
  • An extensive understanding of the policy climate in India, with an informed global perspective, combined with sound and practical business judgment and common sense.
  • An ability to anticipate emerging issues of importance to the company, communicating their impact on us to senior management, and developing a strategy to address them effectively.
  • Ability to identify and understand key technical aspects pertaining to corporate operations in legislative and regulatory proposals, understand business implications, and synthesize policy documents for internal and external customers.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Sound business judgment and a practical approach to policy development and regulatory compliance.
