Senior Project Manager

Manage and oversee the implementation of strategic IT projects from initiation to closure. Oversee a team of project managers and coordinators to drive continuous improvements in portfolio governance and project management frameworks.

Promote a robust IT project management office (PMO) that unlocks business value through collaborative problem-solving. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of IT portfolio processes, including planning, methodology framework, resource capacity management, and ensuring consistent project management standards across the IT portfolio.
  • Mentor and supervise project management teams, creating staffing plans for internal and external resources.
  • Analyse project proposals to determine timelines and funding, providing leadership and motivation throughout all project phases.
  • Implement effective communication strategies, including steering committee meetings and status reports.
  • Manage risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies, and foster alignment of project goals with business objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 7+ years' experience in managing complex IT projects, with knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Disciplined Agile).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Background in Business Analysis.
  • Experience managing an IT Portfolio or PMO.
  • Prior leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Experience managing vendors and contract staff.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
