Job Title: Environmental Health Specialist

We are seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Environmental Health Specialist to support our team in ensuring the safe execution of projects.

This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in environmental health and safety management, who can promote a culture of compliance across all project phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To develop and implement effective environmental health and safety management systems
  • To conduct regular risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
  • To provide training and awareness sessions on environmental health and safety procedures to project personnel
  • To investigate incidents and near misses, and to implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • To maintain accurate records of environmental health and safety performance and to report on trends and areas for improvement

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, science or a related field
  • 8-10 years of experience in environmental health and safety in construction, fabrication, installation and/or commissioning projects/operations
  • NEBOSH IGC or equivalent certificate
  • Lead Auditor ISO 45001/ISO 14001 or equivalent certifications
  • Incident Investigation Techniques certificate

Skills and Qualities:

  • Strong understanding of environmental health and safety issues, practices and behavioral aspects
  • Able to lead cross-functional teams and to develop environmental health and safety plans
  • Sound understanding of environmental health and safety management systems and legislative requirements
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks effectively
