About the Job

We are looking for a highly skilled Business Agreement Director to join our team at upGrad. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our business agreements, including drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts with vendors and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts with vendors and clients;
  • Managing agreements end-to-end;
  • Providing legal advice to the business team;
  • Preparing legal templates for standard agreements;
  • Keeping track of changing laws and identifying their applicability to various business areas;
  • Mentoring and coaching junior team members;
  • Timely follow-up with vendors, clients, and consultants, providing necessary information;
  • Identifying opportunities for automation and training to reduce legal team involvement in day-to-day activities and empower the business team.

Requirements:

  • A strong understanding of contract law, intellectual property law, and other relevant legal areas;
  • A good understanding of business operations and strategic objectives;
  • Proven negotiation skills to achieve favorable terms in contracts;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex legal concepts clearly;
  • An ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical solutions;
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in contract drafting and review;
  • An ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively;
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills;
  • Adherence to high ethical standards and professional conduct;
  • An ability to adapt to changing business needs and legal requirements.
