
Progress OpenEdge Technical Support Specialist

We are currently seeking a dedicated Technical Support Specialist to provide top-notch assistance for applications built on Progress OpenEdge.
Key Responsibilities:- Offer Level 2 and 3 support for applications developed using Progress OpenEdge.
- Continuously monitor application performance and guarantee system availability.
- Analyze and resolve incidents, service requests, and problem tickets within agreed Service Level Agreements.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes for recurring issues.
- Schedule batch processes, jobs, and tasks.
- Coordinate with development teams for bug fixes, enhancements, and release deployments.
- Support application upgrades, patches, and migration activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of issues, resolutions, and standard operating procedures.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated expertise in providing technical support for Progress OpenEdge (ABL/4GL) in a production environment.
- A solid understanding of Progress Database concepts and performance troubleshooting methodologies.
- Experience in incident management, problem management, and change management practices.
- Familiarity with UNIX/Linux commands and scripting languages.
- Knowledge of ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, JIRA, or Remedy.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Understanding of integration with APIs/web services.
- Experience working within global support models.
- Fundamental knowledge of Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
