Risk Specialist Position

The role of a Risk Specialist involves the development and implementation of strategies to mitigate risks associated with lending in rural and semi-urban areas. This entails creating, implementing, and reviewing credit risk models and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Credit Risk Models: Design and review credit risk models to assess the likelihood of default or loss given default. Develop statistical models to predict credit risk.
  • Credit Risk Strategies: Implement and monitor credit risk strategies across the lending life cycle, including acquisition, underwriting, cross-sell, and collections. Analyze industry trends and data to inform credit risk strategies.
  • Portfolio Review: Regularly review the portfolio to analyze various risk metrics for early warning signals and track portfolio trends. Ensure that the portfolio meets accepted risk parameters.
  • Risk Policy: Ensure that risk policies are timely reviewed and reflect the dynamic external environment and internal risk appetite. Coordinate with internal teams to strengthen the risk framework.
  • Industry Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of industry data at scale, preparing MIS/Dashboards and advising senior management on changing market conditions. Identify key insights and trends in the industry.
  • Process Review: Regularly review processes to ensure adherence to risk policies and verify that controls are effectively in place and working.

Requirements:

  • Education: A BTech or MTech degree from a reputable institution is preferred.
  • Experience: 3-6 years of experience in managing risk in a NBFC/Fintech/Lending organization.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and SQL is mandatory; excellent understanding of data and ability to bring insights; sound knowledge of statistical models.
  • Added Advantage: Experience in Microfinance/MSME Lending will be an added advantage.
