Job Overview

The Security Operations Centre plays a pivotal role in safeguarding digital assets from unauthorized access, identifying potential threats, and reporting incidents to stakeholders. They monitor and respond to security events from managed customer systems as part of a rotating 24/7 team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Incident responders who remediate serious attacks escalated from Tier 1, assessing the scope of the attack, affected systems, and collecting data for further analysis.
  • Identify weaknesses and stealthy attackers, reviewing vulnerability assessments (CVEs) on monitored assets.
  • Monitor security events from various SOC entry channels (SIEM, Tickets, Email, and Phone), based on security event severity and suspicious activities, escalating to managed service support teams, tier 3 information security specialists, and/or stakeholders as appropriate for further investigation and resolution.
  • Lead SOC analysts ensuring corporate data and technology platform components are safeguarded from known threats.
  • Analyze events & incidents and identify root causes.
  • Contribute to keeping SIEM platforms up-to-date and assist in developing security strategies as new threats emerge.
  • Stay updated with emerging security threats, including applicable regulatory security requirements.
  • Enhance SOC security processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Document and maintain customer build documents, security procedures, and processes.
  • Document incidents to contribute to incident response and disaster recovery plans.
  • Review critical incident reports and scheduled weekly & monthly reports to ensure technical accuracy.
  • Keep updated with new threats, vulnerabilities, create/contribute to use cases, threat hunting, etc.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the security management team or service delivery manager.
