Job Title: Data Protection Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to manage our backup operations.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will oversee and manage the entire data protection lifecycle, ensuring data integrity, availability, and recoverability across all systems. This role requires strong technical expertise in backup technologies, leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to risk mitigation and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of backup and recovery environments.
  • Develop, enforce, and maintain backup policies, schedules, and procedures aligned with business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) strategies.
  • Monitor backup jobs, investigate failures, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with application, database, and infrastructure teams to meet and maintain data protection and retention requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of backup configurations, processes, and recovery procedures.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies and tools to optimize backup performance, cost, and reliability.

Requirements:

  • Degree or appropriate professional qualification.
  • Specific certification in Backup, Storage, and ITIL.
  • 10-12 years of experience in IT domain, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Integrated IT Backup Solutions, manufacturing IT domain, distributed IT teams, and backup management.
  • Familiarity with VMware, Server hardware management, SLA Tracking, Basic Network Management, Project management, Pharma compliance 21CFR part 11, and CSV documents.
  • Additionally, knowledge in Veritas, Actifio, Commvault, Spectrum Protect, GCP, AWS, and Pharma industry experience is an advantage.
