Job Title: Risk and Control Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk and Control Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operational risk management function, you will be responsible for performing control assurance testing, risk mitigation, and audit activities.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Perform control assurance testing against design and operative effectiveness standards.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of processes and procedures to identify areas of risk and recommend mitigating actions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders globally to understand end-to-end processes and ensure effective communication.
  • Provide expert advice and agree on remedial action plans to optimize risk management.
  • Maintain structured testing plans, including method, sample sizes, stakeholder engagement, and timelines for completion.
  • Deliver high-quality reports with minimal supervision and present findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key business stakeholders, representing the risk and control team in meetings and working groups as required.
  • Proactively deliver quality outputs and own assigned tasks with a proactive approach.
  • Escalate issues with proposed solutions to the team lead in a timely fashion.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in risk management, audit, compliance, corporate banking products, or operational risk roles ideally related to control testing.
  • Logical thinker with ability to break down complex problems into manageable components and plan steps to arrive at solutions.
  • Comfortable speaking up and providing challenges while managing internal relationships.
  • Business awareness combined with enhanced communication skills.
  • Understanding of Operational Risk Control Testing principles and experience running effective reviews.
  • Able to remain objective and independently assess processes in operational areas.
  • Effective communicator with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
