SQL Database Expert Wanted

We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of Senior SQL Database Administrator.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional hands-on skills in installing, configuring, managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting SQL 2005 – SQL 2022.

  • Installation and Configuration: Proficiency in installing Service Packs, Cumulative Updates, Hotfixes (GDR, QFE), and understanding patching hierarchy and clarity on SQL Build numbers and Internal Database build numbers is required.
  • Upgrades and Migrations: Experience in upgrading/migrating SQL Server from older versions (SQL 2005) to newer versions (till SQL 2022) is essential.
  • Data Management: Knowledge in configuring Linked Servers between same/different SQL Server versions, setting up contained databases, and utilizing them for effective migrations is necessary.
  • Backup and Recovery: Familiarity with configuring recovery models, designing backup strategies, fine-tuning backups using Backup Encryption, Compression, and special parameters is required.
  • Error Handling: Ability to handle Master, Model, MSDB, TEMPDB, and Resource database corruptions is essential.
  • High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Hands-on knowledge on HADR like Log Shipping, Mirroring, Clustering, Always-On AG & Replication, Windows Cluster, Quorum, Dynamic Quorum, Voting Mechanism, Failovers through Cluster Administrator and commands is necessary.
  • Advanced Scenarios: Experience in configuring Always-On AG on standalone instances across Windows Cluster in Synchronous mode and Asynchronous mode, handling advanced Always-On AG scenarios like Failover, adding new data/log files, understanding Lease Timeout, Health check timeout, and Failure Condition Level parameters is required.

Mandatory Skills:

  • SQL Server Architecture: Strong knowledge on SQL Server Architecture, parameters, T-SQL, Triggers, and Procedures is essential.
  • HA/DR Solutions: Administration and configuration of HA/DR solutions – Clustering, Always-ON Group etc. is required.
  • Replication Management: Configuring and managing all types of Replications and troubleshooting is necessary.
  • Patch Management: Patch management expertise is required.
  • Server Capacity Monitoring: Server capacity monitoring, analysis, and tuning activities are essential.
  • Automation: Automation using scripts and tools in the area of Backup, Monitoring, Resource Utilization, HA alerts, capacity plan management is necessary.
  • SQL Server Tuning: SQL Server Tuning expertise is required.
