Job Title: Database Systems Expert

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled database administrator to lead and execute SQL Server upgrade projects, including migration from legacy versions to SQL Server 2022.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage complex SQL Server upgrade projects with minimal downtime.
  • Design, configure, and manage Always On Availability Groups (HA/DR) in production environments for maximum reliability and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement robust database migration strategies using AWS services such as RDS, EC2, or other hybrid solutions.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL Server performance by analyzing queries, indexes, statistics, and execution plans.
  • Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing to ensure business continuity.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal database performance.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments.
  • Proven track record of successful SQL Server upgrades to 2022 in production environments.
  • Strong expertise in Always On Availability Groups, HA/DR solutions, and database migration strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS database migration services such as DMS, RDS, EC2, or hybrid solutions.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies, database security, and compliance regulations.
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as PowerShell for database administration is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
