
Lead Lawyer for Strategic Partnerships

This is a key role in the Legal leadership team, reporting to the Group Chief Legal Officer (GCLO). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of legal affairs.
The primary responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic legal advice on various issues and influencing business decisions.
- Managing external counsel relationships and assisting with litigation strategy.
- Overseeing the legal aspects of business operations, including funding transactions and project management.
- Leading corporate deals, contracts, and mergers and acquisitions from a legal perspective.
Key areas of focus include:
- Corporate Deals: Ensuring smooth deal closure and resolution of outstanding issues.
- Contracts: Drafting, negotiating, and finalizing contracts with third-party vendors, suppliers, and consultants.
- Mergers and Acquisitions: Defending indemnity claims and supporting the Corporate Finance team in SPV governance.
- Business Acquisition: Supporting the Business Acquisition team in bid review, risk analysis, and due diligence.
- Policy Advocacy: Providing general legal advisory services and communicating with regulatory bodies.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A law degree from a reputable institution with over 15 years of experience in multinational companies.
- Solid commercial understanding of the power/energy sector and government tenders/projects.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
