Job Title: Database Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Architect to join our team.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing large-scale database systems. This will include analyzing existing systems, recommending improvements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration.

  • Essential Functions:
  • Analyze complex data systems and recommend strategic solutions
  • Develop and implement database security protocols to ensure data integrity and compliance
  • Manage and maintain Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) clusters, ensuring high availability and performance
  • Administer Apache Kafka clusters, including topic management, performance tuning, and security
  • Perform database administration for Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL systems, including backup, recovery, and performance tuning
  • Develop automation scripts using Shell scripting and Ansible for deployment, monitoring, and configuration management
  • Collaborate with data engineers and developers to optimize data pipelines and ensure data integrity across platforms
  • Implement and maintain security best practices across all data platforms
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with IT Manager to establish database security structures and Sox compliance

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement effective monitoring of enterprise systems
  2. Plan and manage technical projects involving multiple teams
  3. Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders
  4. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in database architecture and administration
  • Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with Big Data Technologies, including HDFS, Kubernetes, Kafka, Elastic, SQL Server
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
