Compliance Professional

The Compliance Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring organizational compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Monitoring & Implementation:

• Continuously track and evaluate regulatory updates relevant to the organization, identifying areas of improvement and opportunities for growth.
• Assess the impact of regulatory changes on policies and business processes, providing timely recommendations for adjustments.
• Disseminate updates to senior management, ensuring seamless implementation and minimizing disruptions.

Compliance Advisory & Governance:

• Ensure strict adherence to RBI and SEBI guidelines, maintaining a robust compliance framework that supports strategic objectives.
• Provide expert advice to business teams on loan proposals and related matters, fostering collaborative relationships and driving informed decision-making.
• Present key issues and compliance updates to the Board and board committees, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Reporting & Communication:

• Prepare and submit periodic returns to RBI and other regulators, maintaining accurate records and adhering to regulatory deadlines.
• Act as the single point of contact for regulatory queries and clarifications, providing prompt responses and solutions.
• Coordinate with group entities to share compliance updates and submit data, promoting cross-functional collaboration and information exchange.

Testing & Review:

• Develop and implement an annual compliance testing plan, identifying areas for improvement and optimizing resource allocation.
• Report significant compliance lapses to the Audit Committee and senior leadership, facilitating corrective action and process enhancements.
• Conduct regular compliance reviews and test internal controls across departments, ensuring a culture of compliance and risk management.

Audit & Inspection Management:

• Lead annual RBI inspections, statutory and internal audits, and other regulatory reviews, demonstrating expertise and professionalism.
• Ensure audit readiness, effective participation, and timely closure of audit findings, upholding high standards of quality and integrity.

Legal:

• Handle legal matters, including contracts, compliance, litigation, and regulatory affairs, leveraging specialized knowledge and skills.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Finance, or a related field.
• 7–13 years of experience in regulatory compliance, preferably in banking or NBFC sector.
• Strong understanding of RBI and SEBI regulations and financial compliance frameworks, staying up-to-date with industry developments.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and drive results-oriented dialogue.
• Experience in handling audits, inspections, and board-level presentations, demonstrating confidence and poise under pressure.

Preferred Attributes:

• Certification in Compliance, Risk Management, or related areas, enhancing professional credibility and expertise.
• Experience in policy drafting and governance, contributing to the development of robust compliance frameworks.
• Familiarity with compliance systems and automation tools, leveraging technology to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
