As a key member of the BASF India Limited team, the Operational Caretaker and Vendor Manager will play a crucial role in managing Logistics Service Providers (LSP) related operations and Business Unit expectations. This position will be responsible for ensuring seamless logistics operations and vendor management for the company.

Main Responsibilities:

Caretaker:

  • Function as the primary point of contact for Operations Department (OD) escalation management, excluding operational matters that are handled by the HUB.
  • Represent the Global Business (GB) for Logistics Excellence (LE) during external customer audits, including IATF, ISO:9000, ISO:14000, and KPMG certifications.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, such as the disposal permit, pollution control board, digital signature renewal, and registration with the Ministry of Telecom, as well as handle license to operate (LTO) monitoring and statutory license renewals for Warehouse Service Providers (WSPs).
  • Provide support to operations on both Transport and Warehouse (TM & DNM) functions handled by the KL HUB, as needed, especially during public holidays, long weekends, or outside working hours.

OVM:

  • Manage the performance of Transport & Warehouse Service Providers (LSP & WSP) based on Service Scope.
  • Monitor and ensure the renewal of statutory and local licenses for WSPs.
  • Escalate service issues to the HUB, which will drive resolution in collaboration with the Logistics Provider (LP) and the Operational Vendor Manager (OVM).
  • Renew the Digital Signature of BASF India Limited (BIL) every two years.
  • Conduct periodic visits to Warehouses & plants to address open points from previous visits and ensure the closure of P2, P3 points, including asset checks.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree or above from a reputable institute, with a preference for a degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in Transportation & Warehousing related work areas, with a preference for experience in the chemical industry.
  • Knowledge of overall Transportation & Warehousing processes, SAP processes in TM & DNM operations, and proficiency in English and Hindi, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent numerical skills, with the ability to interpret data and deal with cross-functional work streams.
  • Strong knowledge of service provider management for both TM & DNM functions and good understanding of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
