About the Opportunity:

We seek an experienced journalist to join our global editorial team, covering ferroalloys and bulk ores markets with a focus on India.

You will be responsible for reporting prices on a weekly basis, launching new price assessments, defining specifications, gathering market feedback, generating news content, and maintaining client relationships.

  • Report ferroalloys and bulk ore prices with a particular focus on India.
  • Help launch new ferroalloys and bulk ores price assessments, define price specifications, gather market feedback.
  • Generate news content on the ferroalloys and bulk ores markets working closely with reporters in Africa and Europe.
  • Periodic pieces on topical industry issues such as regulatory/policy developments, geopolitical issues, investment, project pipeline, ESG etc.
  • Maintain strong client and industry relationships sharing and sourcing market intelligence.
  • Engage actively in business development assisting account managers in the sales process through maintaining sales pipelines and assisting in the sales process.

Requirements:

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in the steel or steel raw materials industries and/or markets.
  • Experience in covering ferroalloys, bulk ores or related markets as a journalist, analyst or price reporter.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrable impact and influence skills.
  • Excellent ability to present and to lead public discussions moderating panels at conferences.
  • Strong quantitative skills advantageous.
  • Exemplary written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work within a team while sometimes operating alone.
  • Ability to manage others while maintaining personal output.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering would be advantageous.
