Database Administration Role

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize large-scale databases to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
  • Develop and implement effective indexing strategies, perform query optimization, and fine-tune database configuration for high-performance applications.
  • Design, implement, and monitor robust database backup and recovery strategies to minimize downtime and data loss.
  • Manage database security, access control, and privileges to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
Required Skills:
  • Strong expertise in PostgreSQL database administration (8+ years).
  • Hands-on experience in performance optimization, query tuning, and database design.
  • Proven skills in Linux/openSUSE environment management.
  • Familiarity with timesqldb and related toolkit utilities.
Nice to Have:
  • Knowledge of replication, partitioning, and clustering techniques.
  • Experience in automation scripting (Bash, Python, or similar) for database tasks.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools for proactive issue resolution.
