Job Purpose

As the head of human resources, you would be responsible for leading organisational transformation and embedding a positive culture. You will champion company values through strong leadership and inspirational behaviour.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive reports on HR, payroll, and learning development, including employment law, policy, best practice, and workforce development.
  • Develop effective employment policies across the organisation and advise on strategy.
  • Lead professional development, support, and growth for HR staff to increase knowledge, share best practice, and meet relevant standards.
  • Ensure the organisation complies with current regulations, accepted standards, policies, and procedures, including data protection, equality, and health and safety legislation.
  • Oversee the execution of the HR strategy and core areas, including recruitment, employee relations, workforce administration, employee engagement, payroll, reward, and recognition, as well as maintaining and improving HR systems and managing the budget.
  • Drive continuous improvement with a focus on engagement and welfare activities, maximising productivity, delegating HR responsibilities to line managers, and building leadership capability.
  • Take a lead role in transforming and strengthening organisational culture, ensuring company values and approach are displayed.
  • Execute a plan for diversity, equality, and inclusion that aligns with company values, business strategy, and commitments.
  • Regularly coach, mentor, and support senior and high-potential colleagues to identify individual strengths and development needs, develop and maintain effective relationships, and encourage retention.
  • Ensure managers have necessary skills and guidance to manage workforce issues effectively.Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A Master's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • At least 12 years of experience in an HR role, demonstrating expertise and leadership skills.
  • The ability to create people strategies that drive business outcomes.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience using metrics to drive performance.
  • A proactive attitude and passion for leading with integrity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, approachable manner.
  • A proactive and agile work ethic.
  • A curious mindset, able to think innovatively and rationally about concerns and find creative solutions.
  • Experience managing a skilled team and making quick yet rational decisions.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law.
  • Thorough attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
  • First-rate communication and presentation skills.
