We're on the lookout for a Technical Team Lead. As a Technical Team Lead, you will design, support, and maintain the IT infrastructure and directly contribute to the enterprise strategy. This position will lead a team of IT professionals to implement new IT systems, manage the IT infrastructure, including computer and information systems, security, and communication systems.

Leading Operational Support:

  1. Leads the day-to-day operational support for servers and roles, networks, virtualization, patch management, access management, backups, network printing, storage, monitoring/alerting, network security, and documentation.
  2. Assists the team with technical escalations in all aspects of IT infrastructure and helpdesk services.
  3. Guides the team in the right direction to work efficiently and ensure they stay on track to be successful.
  4. Identifies the technical knowledge gaps within the team and coaches them.
  5. Plans technical training sessions and conducts them if necessary.
  6. Ensures a maintenance plan is in place with defined scope and schedules and followed through, including system software and hardware patching and upgrades.
  7. Oversees patching and ensures all activities are reported post patching.
  8. Ensures required backups are configured and in place for all business-critical servers, data, and network configs.
  9. Ensures backups reports are monitored daily, and any failures are addressed.
  10. Performs weekly or monthly backups tests (VM restore, data restore).
  11. Schedules quarterly WAN failover tests.
  12. Leads in planning and implementing changes to infrastructure to enhance performance.
  13. Ensures the team follows ITIL's best practices for change management and incident management.
  14. Leads major incidents to resolutions.
  15. Performs and documents root cause analysis with incident report.
  16. Leads infrastructure projects.
  17. Leads planning sessions for projects with all stakeholders and internal clients.
  18. Oversees implementation and provides technical guidance to the IT Ops team where needed to ensure success.
  19. Reports post-project.
  20. Ensures EDR/antivirus reports are monitored daily and all concerns are addressed.
  21. Leads and assists the IT Ops team in executing yearly DR testing.
  22. Ensures the environment stays stable and DR-ready at all times.
  23. Assists management with yearly infrastructure and SOC audits.
  24. Ensures the team provides all required data, reports, and evidence within the required timeframe.
  25. Ensures licensing for all systems stays up to date and renewed when needed.
  26. Works with business teams, vendors, consultants, contractors, and IT personnel from other divisions and departments as needed to meet business needs.
  27. Documents SOPs and troubleshooting procedures related to systems, networks, software, and hardware.
  28. Ensures the knowledge base stays up to date with the latest credentials, changes, and SOPs.

This role is a full-time, on-site position in Springfield, MA, with some travel.

Your Expertise, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent work experience.
  2. Microsoft certifications and/or any other IT-related certifications are a plus.
  3. 5 to 10 years' experience in IT infrastructure services.
  4. Insurance industry experience preferred but not required.
