Business Development Manager

Job Summary :
The purpose of the Business Development Manager role is to primarily sell, develop & retain business on the assigned trade lane for all products and hold overall responsibility to drive customer development through sales at origin & destination.
Job Responsibilities :
Actively seek out and secure new business opportunities within the India – East Africa trade lane to meet or exceed agreed-upon targets.
Collaborate with global, regional, local, and overseas sales teams to identify and leverage customer opportunities for the trade lane. Support sales efforts to expand the lane’s business potential
Create and execute a strategic route plan that identifies top opportunities in East Africa among various industry verticals.
Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of the trade lane, including market trends, competitor activities, and key industry shifts. Utilize this information to adjust strategies and optimize performance.
Qualifications :
Graduate/Postgraduate in Business Administration (MBA), International Business, Supply Chain Management
Minimum 4 years’ of deep experience in sales/business development in freight forwarding
Skills & Competences :
Presentation skills in English language
Innovative mindset and attitude
Sales approach, diligence and a convincing, credible personality
Excellent interpersonal and communication skill
Positive, result-oriented, customer-focused attitude
Willingness and ability to travel
