Job Description: Key Account Associate – Modern Trade
Role Overview: The Key Account Associate will be responsible for supporting the management and growth of sales within the modern trade channel. This includes assisting in building relationships with key accounts, driving sales initiatives, and ensuring the brand’s presence in leading retail chains. The role is essential in supporting the achievement of sales targets and increasing market penetration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Support: Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with key modern trade customers, including leading retail chains and supermarkets.
- Sales Targets: Support the execution of brand strategies within the modern trade channel to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Category Management: Collaborate with category and merchandising teams to help ensure optimal product visibility and placement across stores.
- Business Development: Identify opportunities for growth within existing accounts and explore potential new modern trade customers.
- Promotions & Activations: Assist in planning and executing in-store promotions, activations, and sampling activities to boost sales and brand visibility.
- Negotiation Support: Assist in negotiations for annual agreements, including margins, product listings, and trade spends with modern trade partners.
- Inventory Management: Support the coordination with the supply chain team to ensure product availability, preventing stockouts and overstocking.
- Data & Reporting: Assist in analysing sales data, tracking performance metrics, and providing actionable insights to improve sales.
- Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, logistics, and finance teams to align on strategies and ensure smooth execution of operations.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Proven experience of 1 to 5 years in modern trade, sales, or key account management, with a focus on the FMCG industry.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to analyse sales data and develop actionable insights.
- Strategic and results-driven approach to sales and account management.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to relocate to Pune for the mandatory training period.
- Flexibility for one week of travel per month.
- Candidates should have worked in cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad.
