Job Description

Work Type: Full-Time | On-site

Compensation: 30 35 LPA

Hours: 9:30 AM 6:00 PM (MonFri full day, Sat: 1st & 3rd WFO, 2nd & 4th WFH)

Experience Required: 10 15 Years

Notice Period: Immediate or up to 30 Days

Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Freight Forwarding professional to lead the Kolkata region for a reputed logistics company. This leadership role demands a strong network of existing shippers, hands-on experience across all freight functions (Ocean, Air, Project), and the ability to drive new business and revenue. The ideal candidate should be an experienced team leader with a proven ability to manage operations, clients, and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Drive overall freight forwarding business for the Kolkata region
- Bring new clients onboard and share actionable leads with the sales team
- Prepare, review, and approve quotations and jobs for Ocean, Air, and Project cargo
- Actively participate in client meetings to support sales closure and payment recovery
- Conduct weekly sales reviews, monitor progress, and set strategic targets
- Handle credit and commission approvals with senior management
- Guide the operations team in handling customs clearance and complex commodities
- Build a collaborative and productive team environment
- Ensure consistent revenue growth and meet monthly/annual targets
- Lead hiring efforts for sales team gaps

Must-Have Skills

- 10+ years in Freight Forwarding with cross-functional exposure
- Strong client acquisition and retention capabilities
- Proven shipper base ready for onboarding
- Skilled in preparing market reports and intelligence updates
- Ability to manage credit control and ensure timely collections
- Expertise in providing end-to-end logistics solutions
- Proactive, self-driven, and outcome-oriented
