Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Strategic Sourcing Lead – India to spearhead our expansion into the Indian market. This role will focus on driving business growth, building strong vendor relationships and supporting our strategic vision. You will lead the development of key long-term sourcing partnerships and vendors to support our business growth. Responsibilities include analyzing indirect procurement expenditures, sourcing strategic supply partners, developing sourcing policies, and negotiating cost-effective supply contracts.

- Job Grade: Deputy General Manager
- Reporting To: Chief Operating Officer
- Principle Accountability: Multiple entities of Astarc Group across the geographies
- Teams: Gradually build local Strategic Sourcing team in India
- Experience range: Minimum 12 years of experience in Supply Chain Management and Strategic Supplier Sourcing.
- Working Day: 6 Days in a week (Alternate Saturdays Off)

Key Deliverables:

1. Identify and develop Version 2.0 alternate suppliers across India
2. Manage daily interactions with new and existing vendors
3. Scout and cultivate Tier 2 suppliers to become preferred partners
4. Build new vendor relationships and develop ownership of existing raw materials
5. Train suppliers to co-create and align with specifications, delivering optimal value to OEMs
6. Establish sourcing channels from scratch to optimize costs and enhance supply chain efficiency

Scope:

1. Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for global sourcing and purchasing
2. Foster cross-border synergy and leverage global buying power for a robust supply chain partnership
3. Manage import operations and oversee vendor selection and development
4. Handle materials planning and control, as well as transport logistics for inbound and outbound dispatches
5. Optimize distribution networks to reduce costs
6. Set ambitious deliverables, ensure implementation, and drive team compliance
7. Oversee the entire process from raw material procurement to finished goods inventory
8. Map SCM processes and implement best practices
9. Build and scale the India team over time
10. Evaluate suppliers/vendors for quality and cost efficiency
11. Ensure safety guidelines are adhered to across the supply chain
12. Negotiate with suppliers for more profitable deals

Qualification & Preferences:

1. Educational Requirements: Must have a bachelor's and master's degree in engineering (Mechanical or Electronics).
2. Engineering Mindset: An engineering-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
3. Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of the India supplier market, particularly in automotive and white goods sectors.
4. Industry Preference: Experience with Tier 1 Auto Components OEM Suppliers, Automobile Companies (OEMs), Auto and Aesthetic Whitegoods and Consumer Electronics.
5. Product Understanding: In-depth knowledge of Inks, Films, Electronics, PCP/MMA, Polymers/Plastics, Substrates and Lighting/Illumination/Electricals.
6. Critical Skills: Expertise in End-to-End Supply Chain Management & Logistics, Purchasing & Planning (Auto & Whitegoods), Customer Service & Resolution and Distribution.
