Desktop Support Engineer

Department: IT Support / Operations

Reports To: Operation Head / IT Manager

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Desktop Support Engineer to join our team in Vadodara. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 3 years of experience in desktop support and IT infrastructure management. This role involves managing IT assets, handling local networking, performing regular asset maintenance, and providing timely problem resolution for end-users.

Key Responsibilities:

- IT Asset Management:
- Maintain an updated inventory of all IT hardware and software assets
- Ensure proper tagging, tracking, and auditing of IT equipment
- Handle IT procurement and coordinate with vendors as required
- Desktop & User Support:
- Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems and applications
- Respond to user queries and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Network Support:
- Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting LAN/WAN connectivity
- Support Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and basic firewall configurations
- Coordinate with the network team for escalated issues
- Asset Maintenance:
- Perform regular maintenance and health checks of all IT systems
- Ensure timely upgrades, antivirus updates, and system backups
- Manage AMC and warranty tracking for IT equipment
- Problem Solving & Documentation:
- Identify recurring issues and suggest permanent solutions
- Maintain detailed documentation of support requests, fixes, and procedures
- Provide training and guidance to users when needed

Requirements:

- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field
- 1–3 years of experience in desktop support or IT administration
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, basic networking, and IT hardware
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
