Position Overview: The General Manager Manufacturing will oversee the entire manufacturing operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, safety, and compliance across all production units. The ideal candidate will be an experienced FMCG manufacturing leader with deep understanding of production systems, quality assurance, cost optimization, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities: Lead manufacturing strategy in alignment with business goals. Plan capacity expansions and automation as per demand forecasts. Drive operational excellence and implement lean manufacturing best practices. Ensure production targets are met while maintaining product quality and safety. Monitor daily operations and troubleshoot process issues as required. Optimize productivity through process improvements and effective manpower utilization. Ensure compliance with FSSAI, GMP, ISO, and other relevant regulatory standards. Implement and maintain robust quality assurance and control procedures. Coordinate closely with R&D and QA teams for new product introductions and enhancements. Lead and mentor plant heads, production managers, and shift supervisors. Build a high-performance culture through structured training, appraisals, and feedbacksystems. Foster a safe, disciplined, and positive work environment across units. Monitor and manage manufacturing budgets, raw material utilization, and waste reduction. Identify cost-saving opportunities through automation, layout changes, or sourcing alternatives. Collaborate with Supply Chain, Sales, R&D, Procurement, and HR teams for seamless plant functioning. Play a key role in audits, customer visits, and management reviews. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Technology, or relevant discipline (MBA is a plus). Minimum 15 years of experience in FMCG manufacturing, with at least 10 years in a leadership role. Strong understanding of food production systems, packaging, hygiene, and safety norms. Proven track record in managing large-scale production setups and teams. Hands-on experience in lean manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
