Role Overview
The Solar EPC Tendering Head is a pivotal leadership role within our organization, responsible for spearheading the tendering process for solar Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of project specifications, financial modeling, and contract management, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for advancing solar energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tender Management and Bid Preparation
- Business Development: Identify and pursue tender opportunities from government sectors and private entities through Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Tendering Process Management: Oversee all aspects of the tendering process, including:
- Tender searching, shortlisting, and analysis.
- Preparation of risk analysis and techno-commercial documents.
- Costing and bidding activities.
- Online and offline tender submissions.
- Tracking and following up on submitted tenders.
- Cost Negotiation and Order Finalization: Manage the costing process, ensuring effective negotiations and successful finalization of orders.
2. Cost Estimation and Financial Modeling
- Cost Analysis: Develop precise cost estimates that encompass materials, labor, overhead, and project-related expenses.
- Financial Modeling: Create and maintain financial models to assess project feasibility, profitability, and cash flow projections.
- Market Analysis: Evaluate market conditions, competitor pricing, and industry trends to inform pricing strategies and risk assessments.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure financial and operational success.
3. Stakeholder Management and Client Liaison
- Client Communication: Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, and vendors, addressing inquiries and providing necessary clarifications.
- Pre-Bid Engagement: Organize and lead pre-bid meetings to align on project scope and expectations with clients.
- Negotiation and Presentation: Conduct negotiations with clients to secure favorable contract terms, and prepare compelling presentations that highlight the company’s strengths and value propositions.
4. Compliance and Risk Management
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all tender submissions adhere to legal, regulatory, and contractual standards, with a thorough understanding of relevant laws and industry regulations.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and evaluate potential risks associated with project execution and contract terms, implementing strategies to protect the company’s interests.
5. Strategy Development
- Strategy Formulation: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market presence in the solar EPC sector.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
- Market Research: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential threats within the solar energy landscape.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
6. Proposal Presentation
- Proposal Oversight: Oversee the preparation and presentation of competitive proposals, ensuring they are tailored to meet client needs.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of bid submissions and sales strategies.
Key Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 8-10 years of experience in solar EPC tendering or project management, with a proven track record of winning competitive bids.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of solar power project development, including technical specifications, procurement processes, and financial models.
- Communication Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in project management and bidding software tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, etc.).

- Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of solar technology, renewable energy trends, and market dynamics.
