Application Support Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities :

- As a production support engineer, you would be responsible for your team - for resolving the production support issues within a given SLA.

- Build functional knowledge of the system under support and ensure effective troubleshooting of support tickets raised by the customer.

- Build a knowledge base of issues and effective fixes for the same.

- Responsible for identifying issues that require permanent code fixes and ensure tracking of the same till delivery from the implementation team.

- Responding to incidents and coordinating with the infrastructure, network and other teams to resolve issues.

- Responsible for monitoring and responding to open tickets submitted through an incident management system.

- Keeping a record of configuration changes and scheduling application updates.

- Coordinate with Application Development Team to successfully deploy software releases in both User Acceptance Testing and Production environments.

- Develop scripts and work with a team to automate repeatable manual tasks.

- Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving application or infrastructure issues.

- Proactively monitor logs to identify RCA of issues.

Skills Required :

- Knowledge of OS Linux (RHEL 6+ ) and Windows .

- Deep Knowledge of SQL Queries

- Deep Knowledge of Shell Scripting (LINUX), parsing, scheduling, port forwarding etc.

- Knowledge of log monitoring and correlation to what is wrong with the deployment.

- Have functional knowledge of Loan Origination Systems.

- Hands on Experience on Java, Oracle, SQL, MySQL and performance tuning.

- Knowledge on Patch deployments and App/web layer configurations (Nginx, Apache tomcat , Jboss).

- Knowledge on SDLC

- Excellent written & verbal communication

- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Good team player with the ability to deliver within schedules
