Windows Application Support Engineer

Job Description:
As a Windows Application Support Engineer for IIS (Internet Information Services), your primary responsibility is to provide technical support and expertise in managing and troubleshooting Windows-based applications hosted on IIS. You will work closely with clients, developers, and infrastructure teams to ensure the smooth operation of web applications and resolve any issues that may arise.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Application Support: Provide technical support for Windows-based applications hosted on IIS. Assist clients and internal teams in troubleshooting application-related issues and ensure timely resolution.2. Incident Management: Respond to and resolve application-related incidents, including performance issues, server errors, and application crashes. Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to minimize future incidents.3. Server Configuration and Optimization: Configure and optimize IIS servers to ensure optimal performance and scalability of web applications. Monitor server resources, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance enhancements.4. Deployment and Release Management: Collaborate with development teams to facilitate smooth application deployments and releases. Ensure proper configuration and integration of applications within the IIS environment.5. Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Monitor application and server performance using appropriate tools. Identify performance issues and take necessary actions to optimize application performance, including tuning server settings and optimizing code.6. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain accurate documentation of support processes, troubleshooting steps, and configurations. Share knowledge and provide guidance to other team members and stakeholders.7. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, infrastructure engineers, and project managers. Communicate effectively to ensure alignment and timely resolution of issues.
Requirements:
- Experience in supporting and troubleshooting Windows-based applications hosted on Microsoft IIS.- Solid understanding of IIS configuration, performance tuning, and security best practices.- Experience in diagnosing and resolving application issues, including server errors, performance bottlenecks, and application crashes.- Experience with application deployment and release management in IIS environments.- Experience on Cloud Technologies like AWS (Mandatory) , performing windows support in AWS cloud.- Knowledge in Salesforce will be an added advantage.- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Dynatrace, SCOM, Catchpoint.- Should have analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) is a plus.- Done SLA metrics collection and reporting, review each day ticket on SLA compliance and quality- Change release management activities
