Job Title : Head Chef / Chef De Cuisine
Reporting To : Owner / Director Culinary
Location : Mumbai – Nariman Point
Role Description:
We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and bar-forward Chef to lead the culinary program for a
new taproom concept. The chef will specialize in tapas-style, shareable plates with a strong
foundation in Continental and Asian cuisines. The ideal candidate understands how to
design menus that complement craft cocktails and beer, while also delivering bold,
approachable flavors that drive repeat visits and enhance the overall bar experience.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and execute a tapas/small plates-driven menu with a focus on shareability,
consistency, and flavor impact.
Integrate Continental and Asian influences into modern, bar-friendly dishes.
Collaborate with the bar team to create food & beverage pairings that elevate the
guest experience.
Lead and train the kitchen team to deliver high-quality, consistent food.
Establish kitchen SOPs, portion control, and recipe standardization.
Ensure efficient service flow aligned with high-energy bar operations.
Maintain high standards of taste, presentation, and hygiene.
Innovate with seasonal ingredients, foraged produce, and modern techniques.
Keep offerings Instagram-worthy, visually striking, and guest-friendly.
Oversee food costing, vendor management, and inventory control.
Ensure adherence to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
Work closely with management to plan weekly specials, events, and themed menus.
Contribute to marketing initiatives with food content, pairings, and storytelling.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5–7 years of professional kitchen experience, with at least 2 years in a
Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef role.
Strong background in Continental and Asian cuisines, with proven ability to adapt
them into small plates / tapas formats.
Prior experience in high-volume bars, gastropubs, or taprooms preferred.
Passion for pairing food with cocktails and craft beer.
Strong leadership, training, and team management skills.
Creative, trend-aware, and able to balance innovation with approachability.
Bold, experimental, and flavor-driven.
Bar-forward mindset: understands food designed to enhance the drinking experience.
Efficient, cost-conscious, and quality-focused.
Collaborative, with an eye for both guest experience and operational excellence.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹1,500, ₹1,800,000.00 per year
