Role Overview:

As the Lead, Social Media (Instagram and Short-Form Content), you will be instrumental in driving our social media strategy and content creation efforts across platforms like Instagram, YT Shorts, TikTok, Reels, and others. You will lead a team of social media specialists and collaborate closely with content creators to deliver compelling and innovative campaigns that resonate with our audience and amplify our brand presence.

Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Strategy and Planning:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy focused on Instagram and other short-form content platforms, aligned with company goals and audience preferences.
  • Define clear objectives and KPIs to measure the success of social media campaigns, adjusting strategies based on performance analytics and industry trends.
  • Content Creation and Management:
  • Lead content ideation and creation processes, working closely with content creators, designers, and videographers to produce high-quality, visually compelling content optimized for each platform's unique audience and format.
  • Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines, resonates with our target demographic, and drives engagement, followership, and audience growth.
  • Community Engagement and Growth:
  • Foster community engagement through active interaction with followers, responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and engaging manner.
  • Implement growth strategies to expand our follower base organically, leveraging partnerships, influencers, and user-generated content.
  • Performance Analytics and Optimization:
  • Monitor and analyze social media performance metrics across platforms, providing actionable insights and regular reports to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize content strategy, audience targeting, and campaign effectiveness, continually testing and iterating to maximize results.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, content, and partnerships teams to align social media efforts with broader marketing initiatives and campaigns.
  • Coordinate promotions, contests, and special campaigns that integrate seamlessly across all short-form content platforms.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field; relevant certifications a plus.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in social media management, with a strong focus on Instagram and short-form content platforms, ideally within the American sports media or entertainment industry.
  • Deep understanding of social media algorithms, content formats, and best practices for maximizing engagement and reach.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for sports and a demonstrated ability to conceptualise and execute innovative social media campaigns.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in social media analytics tools to track performance metrics and generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a remote team and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
