
Business Development Manager

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a strong network of dealers and distributors in assigned territories.
- Identify and onboard new dealers to expand the market presence.
- Support dealers with product training, pricing, sales strategies, and marketing materials.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets through the dealer network.
- Conduct regular dealer visits to build relationships and monitor performance.
- Resolve dealer issues promptly to ensure smooth operations and maintain loyalty.
- Collect market intelligence on competitors, pricing, and customer trends.
- Coordinate with internal teams for timely product delivery, service support, and after-sales.
- Maintain regular reporting of sales activities and pipelines using CRM or Excel tools.
- Identify and visit potential customers in industrial, commercial, and residential sectors.
- Promote and sell diesel generators (DG sets), AMCs, and related services.
- Generate leads through cold calls, field visits, references, and online platforms.
- Prepare and present quotations to customers based on their power requirements.
- Negotiate terms and close sales deals.
- Maintain regular follow-up with existing clients for repeat business and AMC renewals.
- Coordinate with service and installation teams for smooth order fulfilment.
- Maintain sales reports and provide feedback to management.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- 4 to 6 years of proven sales/business development experience in the generator/DG set industry.
- Strong knowledge of generator types, capacities, and applications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to travel locally within Pune and nearby areas for client meetings.
Preferred:
- Prior experience in generator sales, generator rentals or AMC sales.
- Technical understanding of generator operations and servicing.
