Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Vice President – Institutional Equity Sales to lead our equity sales team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in institutional equity markets, a robust network of institutional clients, and a proven ability to drive revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives and exceptional client relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management:

- Develop and sustain strong relationships with key institutional clients, including asset managers, hedge funds, pension funds, insurance companies, and proprietary trading firms.- Understand clients’ investment strategies, needs, and objectives to provide tailored equity solutions.- Serve as the primary point of contact for top-tier clients, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention.

Sales Strategy and Business Development:

- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets.- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within the institutional equity space.- Lead negotiations and deal structuring to secure new mandates and expand existing relationships.

Market Intelligence and Insights:

- Stay abreast of market trends, equity research, regulatory changes, and economic developments affecting institutional investors.- Provide clients with timely and insightful market analysis, investment ideas, and strategic recommendations.- Collaborate with the research team to ensure clients receive high-quality, actionable insights.

Team Leadership and Development:

- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing equity sales team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.- Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide ongoing coaching and support.- Encourage continuous learning and professional development within the team.

Collaboration and Coordination:

- Work closely with trading, research, compliance, and product development teams to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients.- Ensure seamless execution of client transactions and address any issues promptly and effectively.- Coordinate with the marketing team to develop and execute targeted campaigns and promotional activities.

Reporting and Performance Management:

- Prepare and present detailed sales performance reports, market updates, and strategic plans to senior management.- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and adjust strategies as needed to achieve business objectives.- Utilize CRM systems and other tools to track sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline management.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Educational Background:- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.- MBA, CFA, or other relevant professional qualifications are highly desirable.- Experience:- Minimum of 12 years of experience in institutional equity sales within the financial services industry.- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a senior sales role.- Extensive network of institutional clients and deep understanding of their investment processes and needs.- Technical Skills:- In-depth knowledge of equity products, trading platforms, and market structures.- Proficiency in using CRM systems, sales analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.- Soft Skills:- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute long-term sales plans.- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.- High level of integrity and professionalism.
