About Us

The Humble Pie is an artisanal patisserie café nestled in the vibrant suburb of HSR Layout, Bangalore. We are on the lookout for a passionate and motivated pastry chef to join our small but dynamic kitchen team.

Position Overview

As a Commis II, you will work closely with our Pastry Chef to assist in the preparation and creation of a diverse array of pastries, desserts, and baked goods. This role is perfect for individuals with a foundational understanding of pastry techniques who are eager to learn and thrive in a supportive, creative environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the preparation and production of pastries, cakes, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards.- Support the Pastry Chef in managing inventory, including the ordering and proper storage of ingredients.- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all work areas, utensils, and equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.- Adhere to food safety practices, including the proper handling, storage, and sanitation of ingredients and tools.- Contribute ideas and feedback to the development of new recipes and menu items.- Adapt to changing priorities and special requests with a positive and flexible attitude.

Working Hours

- This is a full-time, permanent position with fixed shift timings and one day off each week.

Qualifications

- Diploma or certificate in pastry or Bachelor of Hotel Management with a focus on pastry.- Basic knowledge of pastry techniques and ingredients.- Minimum of one year of work experience in a commercial bakery kitchen (experience in a home bakery will not be considered).
