The Bakery & Pastry Commi-3 is an entry-level position in a bakery and pastry kitchen. The role involves assisting senior chefs in preparing and presenting baked goods and desserts, following recipes, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The position requires someone who is passionate about baking and eager to learn and grow in the culinary field.
**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Training and SOP Adherence:
- Train junior staff and ensure that all bakery operations strictly adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) set by the Mumbai team.
2. Baking and Packaging:
- Responsible for baking and packaging bakery products to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
3. Hygiene and Cleanliness:
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the experience center, ensuring a clean and safe environment for all staff and customers.
4. Coordination with Teams:
- Coordinate with the Mumbai team to ensure alignment with baking schedules and communicate effectively with the Bengaluru team to manage daily operations.
5. Guideline Compliance and Training:
- Follow all guidelines set by the Mumbai team and actively train other staff to ensure full compliance across all operations.
6. Assistance in Packaging and Dispatching:
- Assist in the packaging of products and oversee the dispatch process to ensure timely delivery to Bengaluru clients.
7. Client Communication:
- Communicate directly with Bengaluru clients to assist with any issues or inquiries, providing excellent customer service.
8. Staff Accommodation and Duty Coordination:
- Reside in the staff accommodation and collaborate with colleagues to adjust duty hours as needed to ensure smooth operation.
9. Vendor Coordination:
- Work with local vendors to ensure timely delivery of products, maintaining a disciplined and organized approach to meet client deadlines.
10. Travel for Training and Client Engagement:
- Be open to traveling to Mumbai for further training as required, and visit client kitchens to conduct product trials and demonstration
**Qualifications**:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A certification or diploma in bakery and pastry arts from a recognized culinary institute is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques and pastry preparation.
- Prior experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen is an advantage but not mandatory.
**Skills**:
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new baking techniques and methods.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
