Job Purpose:

The Accounts Manager oversees the financial operations of an organization, ensuring accurate recording, analysis, and reporting of financial data. This role includes managing a team responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger functions while maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management:

·        Supervise day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries.

  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in preparing the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
  • Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for cost control and revenue growth.

3. Compliance and Audit:

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and tax laws.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and provide necessary documentation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

4. Cash Flow and Risk Management:

  • Monitor cash flow and ensure the availability of funds for operational needs.
  • Manage banking relationships and oversee treasury functions.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks.

5. Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Provide training and professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Assign tasks, set deadlines, and evaluate performance.

6. Process Improvement:

  • Develop and implement efficient accounting processes and systems.
  • Streamline workflows to improve accuracy and reduce processing times.
  • Leverage technology to enhance financial reporting and analytics.

7. Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other departments to align financial goals with business strategies.
  • Provide financial insights and reports to senior management for decision-making.
  • Address inquiries and concerns from internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CA certification preferred).

Experience:

  • Proven experience in accounting or financial management (5+ years preferred).
  • Experience in managing teams and leading financial processes.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally Prime, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.


Working Conditions:

  • Office-based role, with occasional travel for meetings or training.
