Accounts ManagerReports To:Chief Executive Officer
Job Purpose:The Accounts Manager oversees the financial operations of an organization, ensuring accurate recording, analysis, and reporting of financial data. This role includes managing a team responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger functions while maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities:1. Financial Management:· Supervise day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries.Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.2. Budgeting and Forecasting:Assist in preparing the annual budget and periodic forecasts.Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.Provide insights and recommendations for cost control and revenue growth.3. Compliance and Audit:Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and tax laws.Coordinate internal and external audits and provide necessary documentation.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.4. Cash Flow and Risk Management:Monitor cash flow and ensure the availability of funds for operational needs.Manage banking relationships and oversee treasury functions.Identify and mitigate financial risks.5. Leadership and Team Management:Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.Provide training and professional development opportunities for team members.Assign tasks, set deadlines, and evaluate performance.6. Process Improvement:Develop and implement efficient accounting processes and systems.Streamline workflows to improve accuracy and reduce processing times.Leverage technology to enhance financial reporting and analytics.7. Stakeholder Collaboration:Collaborate with other departments to align financial goals with business strategies.Provide financial insights and reports to senior management for decision-making.Address inquiries and concerns from internal and external stakeholders.Qualifications and Skills:Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CA certification preferred).Experience:Proven experience in accounting or financial management (5+ years preferred).Experience in managing teams and leading financial processes.Technical Skills:Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally Prime, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.Strong understanding of accounting principlesKnowledge of tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.Soft Skills:Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Working Conditions:Office-based role, with occasional travel for meetings or training.
