Desired Candidate Profile

· Education: Graduate/Postgraduate (MBA preferred)

· Experience:

  • 5–12 years in insurance / Insurance Broking
  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience in team handling

· Certifications: IRDAI POSP or broker license (mandatory or willingness to obtain)

· Skills Required:

  • Strong leadership & communication
  • Deep insurance product knowledge (Life, General, Commercial lines)
  • CRM tools (Lead Squared, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Territory/channel development
  • Client solutioning and consultative selling.

KRA/ KPI : Job Roles & Responsibilities :

1. Business Development (Multi-Line Insurance) & Sales Strategy & Execution. · Drive acquisition of new business across retail and corporate segments (Motor, Health, Life, Property, Fire, Marine, Group policies, Liability, etc.).Develop and manage a healthy pipeline of individual, SME, and corporate clients.· Identify opportunities in emerging sectors and cross-sell multiple products.· Own and execute territory-level sales plans for all insurance verticals.· Achieve targets related to GWP (Gross Written Premium), policy count, channel partner productivity, and renewals· Implement region-specific campaigns in coordination. 2*. Team Management & Team Leadership.*

  • Recruit, lead, mentor, and motivate a team of Relationship Managers or Insurance Advisors across product lines.
  • ·Assign targets, monitor daily activities, and ensure individual and team KPIs are met.
  • Conduct regular training, joint field visits, and performance reviews.
  • ·Foster a high-performance, ethical, and service-driven culture.
  • Allocate area-wise or product-line-wise responsibilities.
  • Conduct regular sales reviews, joint field visits, and performance evaluations.

  • Multi-Line Product Focus.

  • Ensure team competencies across various insurance products:

· Retail: Motor, Health, Life, Travel

· Commercial: Fire, Marine, Group Health, Liability

  • Train and support the team in product knowledge, cross-sell/upsell strategies.

4. Channel Development & Partnership

· Onboard and manage channels like:

· Agents & Sub-brokers

· Automobile dealers

· Drive growth through B2B, B2C, and B2B2C strategies.

· Build partnerships with:

  • Car dealers, real estate developers, travel agents (for retail)
  • Corporate HR, finance heads (for group/corporate insurance)
  • Manage onboarding, relationship nurturing, and commercial discussions.

  • Compliance & Operations Oversight

  • Ensure IRDAI compliance, documentation accuracy, and ethical sales practices.

  • Coordinate with back-office for smooth policy issuance, endorsements, and servicing.

6. Underwriting & Operations Coordination

  • Liaise with insurer partners for quotes, underwriting approvals, and customization.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation before submission.
  • Coordinate with internal operations teams for policy issuance, endorsements, etc.

7. Client Relationship Management and New Client Acquisition

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients (individual and corporate).
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, renewals, and referrals.
  • Address client queries, coordinate with internal teams for issue resolution.
  • Focus on acquiring new business clients (SME, MSME, Corporate, and Retail HNI).
  • Pitch customized insurance solutions across verticals: Motor, Fire, Group Health, Marine, Term Life, Property, etc.
  • Prospect high-value customers via cold calls, networking, referrals, and events.

  • Market Penetration & Lead Generation

  • Analyze the territory to identify untapped market segments or industries.

  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline through CRM tools.

  • Strategic Alliances & Institutional Tie-ups

  • Develop partnerships with:

  • Trade associations, SME chambers, professional bodies.
  • Financial consultants, aggregators, and POSPs.
  • Enable co-branded campaigns and lead generation partnerships.

  • Team Building & Management

  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of BD executives or associate BDMs.

  • Drive a high-performance culture with incentives, recognition, and accountability.

  • Client Servicing & Relationship Retention

  • Act as the face of the company for key clients.

  • Ensure timely renewal follow-ups, claims support, and grievance redressal.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients (individual and corporate).
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, renewals, and referrals.
  • Address client queries, coordinate with internal teams for issue resolution.

  • Claims Support & Servicing

  • Act as an escalation point for claims issues.

  • Ensure quick and fair claim settlement with support from the claims team.
  • Track claim trends and work with underwriting to mitigate high-risk exposures.
  • 13. Compliance & Audit
  • Ensure adherence to IRDAI guidelines, POSP licensing norms, and company policies.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure process compliance by team and partners.

14. Ensuring compliance, renewals, and customer satisfaction in the assigned territory (Kolkata and nearby regions).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹500, ₹700,000.00 per year
