Job Description
Our Client is an Infrastructural company that offers construction, traffic solutions and procurement services to both public and private clients. Due to expansion, they are currently in need of a WORKSHOP MANAGER .
Job Location: Zamfara
Job Responsibilities:
  • Supervising a team of mechanics and technicians responsible for maintaining and repairing construction equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, cranes, caterpillars, trucks etc
  • Developing preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to keep equipment in optimal condition
  • Inventory and Parts Management
  • Managing inventory of spare parts, tools and equipment needed for maintenance and repairs.
  • Ordering and tracking spare parts and ensuring their availability when required.
  • Team Management
  • Hiring, training and supervising workshop staff, ensuring they follow safety procedures and industry best practices.
  • Assigning tasks. Scheduling work and monitoring the performance of mechanics and technicians.
  • Quality Control
  • Ensuring that all maintenance and repair work meets industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Conducting inspections and quality checks to maintain the reliability and safety of equipment.
  • Budget and Cost Management
  • Managing the workshop’s budget, controlling expenses, and optimizing cost-effective maintenance solutions.
  • Tracking expenditures related to maintenance and repairs. Safety and Compliance
  • Enforcing safety regulations and practices to create a safe working environment.
  • Conducting safety inspections, addressing safety concerns, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Equipment Troubleshooting
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues with construction equipment and Conducting safety inspections, addressing safety concerns, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field eg (automotive technology, mechanical engineering )
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant professional experience with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Previous experience in a workshop or maintenance role is a must.
  • Strong technical knowledge in fixing/repairing of plants and equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices.
  • Proficiency in computer software for documentation and reporting and diagnostic machines to diagnose faults in equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices

  • Strong leadership, supervisory, coaching, and people management skills
