The purpose of the role is to manage regional business finance team and to ensure that the finance and accounts of regions are in accordance with the laid down standards, policies and SOPs. Additionally, the person shall be the custodian of high degree of compliance, as well as for margin enhancement and cost compression for the region. Responsibility for overall awareness on mindful spending and wasteful expenses lies here.


Commercial: Business Planning: Cost Budgeting

1.Discuss Annual Operating Plan with Sales / Retail Team

2.Coordinate with HR / Admin Team and Sales / Retail Team to help gather inputs for regional expenditure projection

3.Ensure submission of budgets to Divisional Commercial within agreed timelines

Commercial: Business Plan Review: Variance Analysis

  1. Present variance analysis to Sales / Retail Team in Monthly Review Meeting (MRM)
  2. Present Store Profitability Report in Monthly Review Meet (MRM)

Commercial: Payables / Receivables: Debtor Management

  1. Partner with Retail / Sales Team in Debtors management
  2. Ensure 100% balance confirmation from all business associates

Commercial: Payables / Receivables: Accounts Payable Management

  1. Ensure all employee claims and vendor bills are processed within SLA period
  2. Approve processing of all franchisee claims within SLA period

Commercial: Working Capital Management: Regional fund management (inclusive of revenue reconciliation)

  1. Reconcile FIT with treasury team on a monthly basis
  2. Coordinate with store and corporate treasury for reviewing and clearance of open line items

Commercial: Business Support: Compliance

  1. Ensure adherence of team withSOPs and laid down policies
  2. Ensure proper and timely approvals are in place in case of exceptions
  3. Liaison with various departments (external and internal) to help obtain required permissions for store operations and regional offices
  4. Ensure compliance with various statutory laws and regulations

Commercial: Business Support: Tax Assessment

  1. Review various forms and details before submission to tax department
  2. Coordinate with tax department for pending assessments and statutory forms
  3. Coordinate with consultant for submission of VAT audit certification

Commercial: Business Support: Month end book closing and MIS Management

  1. Review MIS reports submitted by the regional commercial team
  2. Ensure reversal of undelivered goods and accounting of all the credits
  3. Ensure reversal of earlier provisions and fresh provisions for all pay-outs and overheads

Commercial: Business Support: GL Review

  1. Review region related General Ledgers on a monthly basis
  2. Approve resolution of long pending items/issues highlighted after GL review

Commercial: Business Support: Business Associate and Store engagement

Ensure issues of business associates are redressed periodically, especially in case of exceptions and escalations

Commercial: Operations Control (OCG): Audit Planning

  1. Review and approve physical store audit plan and ensure all stores are covered
  2. Review and approve audit and staff training plan for new stores

Commercial: Operations Control (OCG): Audit Management

Review and supervise status of audits and assessments periodically

Commercial: Operations Control (OCG): Reporting and feedback to business

  1. Advise divisions about setting up new IT controls and improving existing IT controls on the basis of audit observations
  2. Suggest changes in policy to business divisions based on audit observations

Commercial: Operations Control (OCG): Training and Development

  1. Ensure store staff training for improving operational performance
  2. Coordinate and execute training of existing and new auditors periodically

Commercial: General Management: People Management

  1. Drive a performance driven culture in the team by reviewing performance parameters and providing feedback to the team
  2. Contribute in talent development by providing subordinates with adequate exposure and growth opportunities
  3. Ensure periodic follow-up with the recruitment team to fill the vacant positions within stipulated time
