Head of Content & SEO will lead the strategy, execution, and management of content creation alongside SEO initiatives to drive organic growth, enhance visibility, and engage the target audience effectively. This role requires balancing creative content leadership with strong SEO expertise to maximise web traffic and conversions.Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a unified content and SEO strategy focused on college/exam reviews, placements, admissions, cutoffs, courses, and related topics.- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary content and SEO team, fostering collaboration between writers, editors, SEO specialists, and digital marketers to produce compelling and optimised content.- Lead the SEO strategy for all college-related content to maximise organic search visibility and traffic.- Ensure content quality and consistency across all platforms, optimising for SEO best practices including keyword research, on-page/off-page optimisation, and technical SEO.- Oversee creation of diverse content formats such as blogs, videos, social media posts, and landing pages to support the brands growth and engagement targets.- Conduct regular SEO audits and liaise with web development teams to fix technical SEO issues and improve site architecture.- Optimise existing content and oversee technical SEO improvements on the website.- Analyse SEO performance metrics and content analytics to continuously refine strategies and inform decision-making.- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, sales, product, and UX teams to align content and SEO with broader digital campaigns and product launches.- Stay updated on search engine algorithm changes, industry trends, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive Proven experience (typically 5+ years) managing content strategy and SEO functions, preferably in the education or digital media sector.- Strong knowledge of modern SEO techniques, keyword research tools (e.g., Ahrefs, SEMrush), Google Analytics, and content management systems.- Exceptional leadership, team management skills, communication, and project management skills.- Data-driven approach with the ability to interpret complex SEO and content performance data.- Experience with video content production and social media integration is a plus.- Passion for education and understanding of the higher education ecosystem.- Excellent content writing, editing, and storytelling skills.- An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.- Understanding of the higher education landscape and college admission processes is a plus.- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
