Finance cum Operations Head with Planning and Analysis Expertise


Location: West Africa

Position Overview: The Finance cum Operations Head with Planning and Analysis Expertise is responsible for overseeing the financial management, operational aspects, and strategic planning functions of the university. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in finance, operations management, and strategic analysis to drive organizational success.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

- Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the university's financial health and sustainability.

- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.

- Monitor financial performance against budget and provide regular reports to senior management.

- Manage cash flow, investments, and financial risks effectively.

- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.

Operations Management:

- Streamline administrative and operational processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

- Supervise facilities management, including maintenance, security, and housekeeping.

- Oversee procurement, inventory management, and vendor relations.

- Implement technology solutions to optimize operational workflows.

- Ensure adherence to policies and procedures.

Strategic Planning and Analysis:

- Lead strategic planning initiatives and contribute to the development of the university's long-term objectives.

- Conduct financial and operational analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.

- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on data-driven analysis.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic initiatives.

- Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and economic indicators to inform decision-making.

Team Leadership:

- Provide leadership and direction to the finance, operations, and planning teams.

- Recruit, train, and mentor staff to build a high-performing team.

- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement:

- Collaborate with senior management, academic departments, and other stakeholders to align financial, operational, and strategic goals.

- Build relationships with external partners, government agencies, and regulatory bodies.

Payroll Function:

- Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries, wages, and benefits to faculty, staff, and other employees.

- Collaborate with HR to maintain accurate employee records, including attendance, leaves, deductions, and taxes.

- Ensure compliance with payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor standards, including the timely filing of payroll taxes and statutory deductions.

- Review payroll reports and reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve any issues promptly.

- Develop and implement payroll policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard payroll data and mitigate risks.

- Stay informed about changes in payroll regulations and best practices, implementing updates as necessary to ensure compliance and efficiency
