We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager with extensive experience in the Defense and Shipyard sectors. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, building strategic relationships with government and private stakeholders, and driving revenue growth through solution-based sales of products, services, and turnkey projects.Key Responsibilities:•Identify and develop new business opportunities in defense, shipbuilding, and maritime sectors, including PSU shipyards, DRDO, Indian Navy, Coast Guard, and defense contractors.•Build and maintain strong relationships with key government agencies, procurement officers, and defense ecosystem stakeholders.•Lead proposal development, bid submissions, and participate in RFP/RFQ processes for defense procurement and shipyard tenders.•Monitor defense budgets, procurement plans, and upcoming projects to align sales strategy.•Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, project, legal, finance) to design, price, and deliver compliant solutions.•Track competition and market trends; provide feedback for product and service development.•Represent the company at exhibitions, trade shows, and industry forums such as DEFEXPO, Aero India, INMEX, etc.•Ensure adherence to defense procurement procedures (DPP/DAP) and guidelines while pursuing government business.•Manage long-cycle sales processes and nurture prospects into long-term partnerships.•Provide monthly and quarterly reports on pipeline, performance, and market intelligence.Key Requirements:•Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture, Defense Studies, or a related field (MBA preferred).•Minimum 5 years of experience in business development/sales within the defense or shipyard ecosystem.•Strong understanding of Indian defense procurement processes, public sector shipyards, and maritime defense needs.•Existing relationships with Indian Navy, Coast Guard, DRDO, or defense OEMs is highly desirable.•Experience handling high-value tenders, offset programs, and JV/strategic partnership discussions.•Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.•Willingness to travel frequently across India and abroad as required.Preferred Industry Backgrounds:•Defense Manufacturing•Marine Equipment / Naval Systems•Shipbuilding / Ship Repair•Heavy Engineering (defense focus)•Aerospace & Defense OEMs
