Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Engineer with a focus on Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) to join our team. This role will involve identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities in markets such as automotive, off-highway, mobile hydraulics, and aerospace, specifically targeting companies that require advanced data collection, monitoring, and analysis solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in automotive systems, particularly in data acquisition technologies, as well as proven experience in business development.

Job Responsibilities
  • Identify and prospect new potential customers in the automotive industry, specifically targeting OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and testing centres.
  • Generate leads, qualify prospects, and manage the sales pipeline from initial contact to contract negotiation and close.
  • Serve as a technical consultant to potential clients by presenting the features, benefits, and technical specifications of DAS products.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and product teams to understand customer requirements and customise solutions accordingly.
  • Research and analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer demands to identify emerging opportunities.
  • Develop and implement targeted business development strategies to expand the company's market share in the region.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry developments in automotive data acquisition technologies, ensuring that solutions align with current market needs.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders in the automotive sector.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to strengthen the company's presence and brand reputation.
  • Track sales activities, including lead generation, customer communications, and progress towards sales targets.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or related field).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales, business development, or engineering roles within the automotive industry, with a focus on Data Acquisition Systems or related technologies.
  • Proven track record of successful sales and business development within the automotive sector.
  • Strong understanding of Data Acquisition Systems (DAS), automotive testing, telemetry, sensors, and related hardware/software solutions.
  • Familiarity with automotive engineering processes, product development cycles, and testing requirements.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales analytics tools.
  • Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulatory requirements related to data acquisition and testing.
